The category dictionary: the official word list, annotated
Kakobuy publishes its own Chinese-English catalogue of common product words. These tables keep the official pairs, add romanisation, and note where the official translation will steer an English search wrong.
Where this list comes from

The source is an official help-centre article titled Commodity catalogue in Chinese & English, filed under the shopping-agent service section. It groups common women’s products into five blocks: clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories, each a run of Chinese terms with the operator’s own English pairings.
Two framing notes from the article itself. The keywords are meant for typing into marketplace search; and when a keyword cannot find the product, the official advice is to contact customer service for help, which is a useful next step when the current search does not resolve the request.
Everything below quotes the official pairs verbatim, then annotates them. Where a pairing is odd, the oddity is the operator’s, preserved because you will meet it in their interface.

| Chinese | Reads as | Official English | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 连衣裙 | lianyiqun | Dress | The default one-piece word; 裙 alone only means skirt. |
| 卫衣 | weiyi | Hoody | Hoodie or crewneck; pair with 加绒 for fleece-lined. |
| 毛衣 | maoyi | Sweater | Sweater wording; the fibre can vary. Read the composition. |
| 针织衫 | zhenzhishan | Knitwear | Knitwear wording; not a guaranteed weight or fibre. |
| 羽绒服 | yurongfu | Down Coat / Jacket | A down-garment description; verify the fill claim and 含绒量 (down content) specification. |
| 风衣 | fengyi | Dust / Wind Coat | A trench; the official translation never says trench. |
| 打底裤 | dadiku | Leggings | Listed twice in the official table, as Leggings and Legging. |
| 牛仔裤 | niuzaiku | Jeans | Denim; 微喇 means slight flare, 直筒 straight cut. |
| 短裤 | duanku | Shorts | Also appears inside 运动裤 listings; read the length spec. |
| 泳衣 | yongyi | Swimsuit | 比基尼 is the bikini entry next to it. |
| 内衣裤 | neiyiku | Underwear | Usually excluded from returns; order carefully. |
| 情侣装 | qinglüzhuang | His-And-Hers Clothing | Matching couple outfits; check whether the selected option is one garment or a set. |
The original clothing block has more entries than this selection. 毛衣 commonly refers to a sweater, while 针织衫 is a broader knitwear term; sellers can overlap these labels. Use the composition, thickness and measurements in the actual specification to decide what the garment is.
Shoe and bag words

Footwear vocabulary is boot-heavy: ankle, middle and high shafts each get their own word, and the catalogue’s own entry for combat boots is the brand name itself, DR. Martin. Expect marketplace results for that term to mix the brand with lookalike styles; the listing page covers telling those apart by spec and seller signals.
Bags hide the catalogue’s most consequential collision, documented in the table below.

|---|---|---|---|
| 运动鞋 | yundongxie | Sport Shoes | The sneaker word; the catalogue writes it with a space, 运 动鞋. |
| 高跟鞋 | gaogenxie | High Heeled Shoes | 超高跟 is the super-high entry right before it. |
| 平底鞋 | pingdixie | Flats | Flat-bottom shoes, literally. |
| 帆布鞋 | fanbuxie | Canvas Shoes | Canvas sneakers; a separate word from 运动鞋. |
| 凉鞋 | liangxie | Sandal | Cool shoes, literally; summer sandals. |
| 短靴 | duanxue | Ankle Boots | 高筒靴 High Boots and 中筒靴 Middle Boots scale up the shaft. |
| 雪地靴 | xuedixue | Snow Boots | Snow-ground boots; the shearling style. |
| 马丁靴 | madingxue | DR. Martin | The official table translates the category with the brand name itself. |
| 拖鞋 | tuoxie | Slippers | Covers slides and house slippers both. |

|---|---|---|---|
| 手提包 | shoutibao | Handbag | Hand-carry bag, literally. |
| 背包 | beibao | Backpack | Back bag; straightforward. |
| 钱包 | qianbao | Wallets | Money bag; 零钱包 Coin Purse is the small one. |
| 手拿包 | shounabao | Clutch Bags | Hand-hold bag. |
| 单肩包 | danjianbao | Shoulder Bag | Single-shoulder bag. |
| 斜挎包 | xiekuabao | Shoulder Bag | Crossbody; yet the official pair is also Shoulder Bag. Search the Chinese to tell them apart. |
| 腰包 | yaobao | Waist bag; the official translation Pocket will not find it in English. Use the Chinese. | |
| 旅行包 | lüxingbao | Travel Bags | Duffels and weekenders. |
The official list translates both 单肩包 and 斜挎包 as Shoulder Bag. The Chinese distinguishes a single-shoulder description from a crossbody description more clearly, but seller titles and search results may still overlap. Check strap length and wearing photos. 腰包 means waist bag; it is a more useful search term than the catalogue’s English label Pocket.

|---|---|---|---|
| 戒指 | jiezhi | Rings | 情侣对戒 appears as Coupon Rings in the official table; it means couple rings. |
| 项链 | xiangliàn | Necklace | Neck chain, literally. |
| 手链 | shoulian | Chains | Hand chain: a bracelet, though the table says Chains. |
| 耳坠 | erzhui | Earring | 耳饰 under accessories is the same translation. |
| 黄金 | huangjin | Gold | 足金 / 999 are fineness claims; K金 describes karat gold. The wording does not verify the material. |
| 水晶 | shuijing | Crystal | Covers glass crystal; not gemstone grade. |

|---|---|---|---|
| 围巾 | weijin | Scarves | 羊绒围巾 Cashmere Scarf; 披肩, a shawl, is translated plain Scarf. |
| 手套 | shoutao | Gloves | 触屏手套 Smart Phone Gloves is the touchscreen entry. |
| 棒球帽 | bangqiumao | Baseball Hat | The curved-brim cap. |
| 鸭舌帽 | yashemao | Peak Cap | Duck-tongue hat, literally; flat caps included. |
| 渔夫帽 | yufumao | Bucket Hat | Fisherman hat, literally. |
| 盆帽 | penmao | Bucket Hat | Basin hat; same translation as 渔夫帽 in the table. |
| 贝雷帽 | beileimao | Berret Hat | The official spelling doubles the r. Search beret on Western sites, 贝雷帽 on Chinese ones. |
| 针织帽 | zhenzhimao | Knitted Hat | Beanies. |
Three catalogue quirks live here. Couple rings print as Coupon Rings, a typo worth knowing because the interface may show it. The beret spells with a double r. And two different hats, fisherman and basin, share the Bucket Hat translation; they are near-identical silhouettes, so for once the collision is harmless.
How to actually search with these words
Try the Chinese term when the English search is ambiguous. For example, 黑色真皮短靴 combines black, a genuine-leather claim and ankle boots. It is a search phrase, not verification of the results’ colour, material or construction. Open each listing and read its specification.
Modifiers such as 现货 (in stock) and 新款 (new style) can narrow a query, but they remain seller descriptions. Confirm stock for the exact option and do not infer a production date from 新款. The captured agent search guidance lists Taobao, Tmall, JD.COM and 1688; check the current result and use the manual-order guidance when a source cannot be loaded.
And the official escalation stands: when a keyword fails, ask support. The catalogue article itself ends on that advice, and support may help investigate a source link or article number when your own searches fail.
A search word is not a material certificate
Terms such as 真皮 (genuine leather), 纯棉 (pure cotton) or 足金 (fine gold) describe what the seller is claiming. Search results and labels do not independently verify the material. Check the exact specification, evidence and return conditions rather than treating the word as proof.
